My husband was craving a hotdog and I wasn’t going to serve it to him the traditional way. Here is what we came up with.
Saute 2 onions cut in butter until they are soft. Add 2 tbsp honey/powdered sugar and a little water. After about 3-4 minutes, when you see the onions catch a nice caramelisation, add 350gms of sliced chicken. This chicken cannot be raw, so either buy roasted chicken or grill it before you add here. Saute for about a minute and add salt, pepper and chilli sauce to taste and half a cup of orange juice. Let the mix come to a nice boil. We left the mix a little wet so that the break soaks up the extra juice.
For assembling the hotdog, place some gherkins, or vegetables of your choice and add the onion and chicken mix. Serve with chilli sauce!
